I’m just curious what’s causing things to take so long when you had the same developers create cutting edge games in the previous generations and they would do it in 2 to 3 years and those games for those times were cutting edge and looked incredible and had insane detail for their time. That brings us to E3 2018, where Xbox boss Phil Spencer implied that what could be Fable 4 may be in the works. So, when it comes to other games that don’t have that same level of detail, what’s causing them to take years and years and years, is it purely the amount of work they have to do on the graphics, and how it looks because realism is causing things to just take longer and longer? I’m not knocking down any games that aren’t as detailed as those rockstar games. Hope this isn’t derailing, I’m curious what is causing modern AAA games to take so long? For example, I understand when game like red dead redemption 2 or GTA 6 takes six or seven years or more to make, because the amount of detail, and what’s going on in the world is just absolutely insane, like you can open every drawer/closet, go to every house do practically anything and things you don’t even interact with are performing actions like birds in the sky have their own cycles that they go to like diving for fish in the lake and all that stuff. It just not make any sense to me from rational standpoint, not even 4chan source. The 4chan leaker need to have at least minimum dev process knowledge even if it just theoretical learning. I mean it will be a planning & production disaster class if it's true.Īnd even for Vertical slice you have to have at least enough tech/tools ready to be greenlight, there just no way lol.
